Have a 2003 domain with XP SP2 clients. One machine does not show up
when browsing the network, cannot connect to the administrative share
from any machine and cannot connect to it with computer management.
Can connect to it with remote desktop. If shares are created on that
machine they are not seen. Set the exceptions on the firewall but
just turned it off completely when these problems were discovered
which made no difference. This machine can access other network
resources just fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like an XP Home Edition machine, joined to a 'workgroup' with the same name as the domain
