Thinking about taking this route for my Stargate.

I keep getting 1-3-1 errors and have exhausted all troubleshooting options
(minus anything that requires soldering) that I was able to dig up on the
net.

My soldering is atrocious and I would prefer to not totally destroy the
board by attempting to solder things that might not need to be resoldered.

Below are hi-res pics of my main board... if you have the bandwidth (and a
graphic editing program that allows zooming) please check them out and see
if there is a blatant problem that I am missing.

Any recommendations of persons that do this or estimated prices???

Mike, check the solder connections on the back of the power board.
Look at them real close and see if the solder is kinda cracked from
around the pins. I think the error your getting is a ram error. I had
a stargate that did that and as I replaced the ram the problem would
move. It turned out to be bad solder connections on the power board...

Mike,

1-3-1 is a RAM error... you can find out more on
http://www.robotron-2084.co.uk/

it shouldn't be a hard problem to fix.. have you tried swapping in new ram?

I have a couple extra 4116 if you want to swap around (I'm in Long Valley,
Morris County).

1-3-1 is seldom really a ram error.

Those pics aren't very good, but it does look like there might
be some damage to the RAM traces. Have to checked to see
if any of them are broken or shorted together?

Matt

P.S. If you can't find anyone local you can send the board to me
and I'll check it out.
