If you go onto Newegg, the ATI AIW x800xt is going 339.00 while the saphire x800xt is going for 430.00 . The AIW should easily do plat so am I missing something?

<A HREF="http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102492" target="_new">Clicky</A> on the Good Sale. $50 rebate, but still a nice card for the price, especially BBA Retail Box.

<A HREF="http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10386224&dcaid=1688" target="_new">Buy.com</A> has the same price after rebtae, and no NJ sales tax for me. Tempting(feels urge to sell 6800U).

What you're missing is the price-gouging mark-up and we can all be thankful to miss that.

That's a freakin' nice price, man. All the way.

339$, that's 40$ more than an X800XL, for a card that outperforms it and has TONS of extra features.

You'd have to be crazy not to buy now if you're looking for an AIW.

I think you should try obtaining that card. Barely a bit more than the XL but with all the editing rig features you'd ask for and overall better performance!

Well, that is unless you're switching to PCIe soon.

The Buy.com link cracks me up as always. They have the special add an item for a discount. It happens to be Buy an AIW X800XT and add a AIW 9800 pro for a total of $644. Whoopie.

Definitely moving to PCIe for next build, still not sure when I'd gonna find time/motivation.

I'm a little depressed that some items never materialized (HIS IceQII X800XL Dual DVI + ViVo, heck the original plain IceQIIX800XL has never come back in stock!)

Decided on Chenbro Cube case instead of Stacker though.

Righ now just depends on when I get the desire.

I like the look of the X800XT AIW (looks like a Bruin card  ) but I don't like the idea of the power plug, however depending on what arrives when we'll see, but of course only if it's PCIe, no more AGP for me.

Annoying part, the HSF on my gaming rig went so I have to waster money getting a new one, and I'm not sure if I should upgrade to a Sempron 2600+ while I'm at it (only a few bucks more). But the 2000+ will be fine for basic media stuff when it becomes a media pc.

Yes, Tom's somehow lost certain photos of the card for the review, and since the review is already up, it's unlikely that you'll see them. I checked the model numbers on the RAM, it is indeed GDDR3 1200, and only clocked at DDR1000 speed.
