Internet Speed.

10Mbps down / 1Mbps up. $50 a month Optimum Online Cable (OOL).

Those optical speeds are something else, but I'd rather give up some speed and save money. Say $30 a month for 5Mbps/1Mbps. :eek:

Let's see some screenies (no buffer blasting guys, real speeds) of course here at work I'm limited by the tests, but here's one from the other day (too bad I can't use full Java at work or I'd use the major BroadBandReports ones);

You do realize mine had a 1 in front of the 7, right?!? :tongue:

BTW, even while having 2 server connections up I got this;

LOL!

Mine weren't faked.

Did you cache exploit?

BTW, try a few different sites for your top speed, I found that the actual Toast.net ones (there are 2 if you go to the 'more sites' option) are fastest and II got me the above result.

PPS, look at the name of the jpg. :evil:

HAHAH :lol:

defiled?!? please be gentle with me .... lmao no... what you do is , well look at the end of the url once you run the test at Toast.net .. your speed is measured by how fast the page is loaded (dunno of its the time recieved, or the total time rendering because machine speed can have a great effect on this) so if you edit the last digit down say half a second then itll display what kind of bandwidth you would be getting if it came up that fast

No cap unless you abuse your upload amount. Alot of people were ticked when they started capping for excessive uploading, but hey it's cable so they have my blessings to go ahead and cap my neighbors if they are running servers or providing a fat filesharing pipe at our whole nodes expense.

Sheesh, with those speeds, running speed tests at work must be on most new employee/geeks to do list when they take the job. Then it switches to downloading everything you could ever want/need. Got a USB 2.0 DVD burner handy?

The free at home broadband sure is a nice perk too!

Haha, ok, that's a pretty simple exploit.

Yeah I thought the jpg needed a unique name, and voila.

Gentle, sure gentle like Ebola! :eek:

EDIT;
running speed tests at work must be on most new employee/geeks to do list when they take the job.

Yeah, except like I mentioned Java's completely handcuffed at work, and none of the BroadbandReports tests work. The best is downloading demos from ATi and the like. Now that I added my external DVD burner (bought over Xmas [LG w/ RAM]) to the work machine I can download the files that used to stiffle me before (too many >1gb files [I did have my jump drive trio w/ 1GB of LAxar 32x]).

There are other perks like TVoverIP (similar to ExpressVu selection), but I can't get it in my new area (low end copper twisted pairs, no fibre link).

Well think of it this way, WE supply the University with their connection. :lol:

The biggest barrier between me and the .net at work is the connection out of the back of my Hell desktop. My absolute max has been just under 40Mbps IIRC. It's most fun comparing long haul download rates for ATi and M$ stuff, truely gives you and idea of sustained rate, and it's usually above 12Mbs, and that may be more limited by M$ and ATi and their traffic than me.

BT's capped at 15GB/month total traffic (combined Upload/Download). That said, there are other providers giving 2Mb unlimited for less. My brother's just switched to MetroNet (although he's only on a 512Kb service), so I'm seeing how that goes before I make the switch myself (I'm on BT). They (MetroNet) have a pay-as-you-go type scheme, where they charge £X per GB, but they cap the charge at around £32 (for the 2Mb Service), so if you use less than (IIRC) 15GB or so then you pay less.

There are others. <A HREF="http://www.ispreview.co.uk" target="_new">http://www.ispreview.co.uk</A> seems a good source for info, if anyone else is interested.

Whilst it is indeed reliable it is capped at 15Gb per month you can exceed this put you are charged for doing so.

Ned that really isnt a good deal you are getting. Try pipex - better pricing at the moment but. All BT and pipex connections (possibly others too) are being upgraded/doubled very soon for free 512 goes to 1mb 1mb to 2mb etc mine just went from 512k to 1mb gratis with pipex....this may be old news to many though.
