I don't know if his specs are needed but here they are to the best of my knowledge.
Gigabyte nForce 4 Ultra motherboard (PCI-Express)
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 939
GeForce 6600GT PCI-E
MGE Viper case with MGE 500W PSU
1GB (512x2) Mushkin PC3200 DDR400 DDR RAM
Maxtor 200GB hard drive
Sony CD-RW/DVD burner/reader
Dell LCD monitor
Everything works, no beeps, no problems. The videocard's fan is running so we don't know what it is. The monitor will go to the orange standby light, but when trying to push the Brightness or Contrast options, the screen says "Power Save Mode On, press any key to disable etc". Nothing happened upon pressing a key, but the monitor still works on the old computer. Reseated and unseated millions of time and still nothing, he says the video card has always been a little bit wobbly as with the first time we got the computer at all.
Also, the motherboard doesn't make any beeping noises if something vital is missing, monitor won't display anything at all except what is posted above, yet everything apparently runs with power going through them, and motherboard lights are working.
