i just recently bought a macbook pro 2011 (13inch) and i really don't know much about OSX.

about 2 days later. i found out i had a Keylogger virus on my PC and compromised alot of my game accounts.

now i understand when you want to install anything on the mac it requires ur login password. but is it possible for a mac keylogger malware to install without permission?

More about : keyloggers mac install automatically

Possible? Sure it is. As for if anyone is actively doing such an exploit for OSX I don't know. The only reason there's more malware for Windows than OSX is because OSX is a smaller target since not as many people use it, not because it's more secure. It's not. Yet another reason it's important to keep your system and your browser up to date

Use a anti virus called ClamXva which is free and I have used it over 1 year with no problem at all.It is especially for Macs.Good Luck marv
