I have a FX5900 nvidia video card. Recently the video started "freezing" every 2 to 3 seconds, which is really disruptive to all of my gaming. The only thing that is different is that I have installed an anti-spyware program and have operated it once. The program found 3 "spyware" applications and stated that removing them might cause "interuptions" of some of my other programs. I did not expect intermittant display "freezing". What can I do about this very annoying situation?

Make sure your videocard fan hasn't died. Could be from overheating...

It happens with all the games that have ANY amount of motion. I will try another graphics card that I know works and see if there is an improvement.

I just tried that noble(?) XP function, restore. I went back two weeks, prior to the install of my anti-spyware and CD writer programs, and did a restore. Low & behold, the freezing went from one every second or so to once every 5-10 minutes! I also installed Nvidia's April 14, 2005 graphic drivers and the freezing went up just a scooch. SO I'm happy and thanks for the suggestions.
