Hi Guys,

I have a Dell C800 laptop and the ethernet adapter does not want to
work. If I have the laptop in the docking station I can see the
ethernet adapter under the device manager and I have access to the
internet. However, once the laptop is undocked the LAN port will not
work, no lights, nada, and the device manager drops the ethernet
adapter.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Does the docking station have it's own LAN hardware? Try looking at
it with "devices by connection" in Device Mangler. Sounds like a
hardware problem...
