I'm looking to replace my video card in my pc. Lately it just lags to hell on the new games that are coming out, things like Empire Earth 2 and Doom3. (Although I was able to exploit that ram trick to play doom on high :D)

Basically I'd like to maximize my system capabilities with a mid-range card. Here's the specs:

Athlon 1700+
kingston ddr 2700 ram, 768 megs
ABIT KG-7 motherboard
WD 80 gig hdd

Right now I'm using a 3 year old Geforce 3 Ti 200. It's a trooper but can't handle the games anymore.

Any suggestions on a good card to buy? I think 256 megs of ram is probably a waste of money depending on the card, since some don't get much of a performance boost from 128 to 256. I was looking at these cards. (Maybe the 9800 pro is too much power)

Radeon 9800 pro
Radeon 9600 XT
Radeon 9600
Geforce FX 5700 Ultra
Geforce FX 5700
Geforce FX 5200 Ultra

Looks nice, but isn't that PCI express? I'm not sure but I seriously doubt my motherboard is PCI express enabled.
