Thanks to all that advised me w/ my recent minor problem. But I still have a question. What causes the video display to momentarily freeze? I would think that 1 gig of 333mHz DDR memory, a 2+ gigHz processor and a really powerful PS would eliminate the problem. Oh, I am using a FX 5900 card w/ 128 megs of ram.
If you consider 4 months since installing Win XP Home fresh, yes. But the duration and the period between freezes varies. They are all momentary, but vary from milliseconds to almost a sceond. The latest Nvidia drivers have been installed.
I was plagued with the same problems on a ATI 9800 PRO. The cure presented itself when I had to reformat to clear up a corrupted OS issue. As stated earlier...it may well have been a multi-driver issue in the windows folders. My PC now runs for hours without a single hiccup even in the warm weather.
I want to die like my Grandfather...in my sleep...not screaming in terror like his passengers.
