  4. Well you have previous drivers, you'll have to get rid of them all, use drivercleaner, just google for that. Get rid of all previous drivers, ATI/Nvidia/whatever other company, then reinstall chipset drivers, then install latest graphics drivers.
  5. You'll also want to be sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed. And you might want to defrag your hard drive if you haven't done that in a while. Also, check what background programs are running and shut down any uneccesary ones. All this is really simple stuff, but it makes a real difference.
  6. Fvking do a fresh install newb! Save all the crap you need and do a fresh install.

  10. do fresh install- standard procedure when you make a major hardware change.

  11. Yes, and you'll start with a clean registry, and very little junk. That by itself can speed up your machine.

Nothing is as easy as it looks
  12. I had the same problem and i fixed it very very very very very very easily.
I downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia.
Then i rebooted and ran UT2004 again and guess what....it worked way better. Better as in 16x12 everything maxed out and a solid 45fps. Most people demand 60+ but i am cool with 45.

  13. yeah, you never mentioned what version you are running

I think we're at 72..something or other now?
and check your processes, sometimes its just some dumb spyware
clean your start folder in your start menu
  14. Do you have the power cable plugged in to the card? I forget what they call that connection...i'll probably remember as soon as i hit continue...I've had problems where things started running slow because of a loose power cable (xfx 6800 gt pci-e). A friend of mine had the same problem until he uninstalled and reinstalled his drivers (agp bfg 6800 gt oc).
