Man why the hell do they make it so hard to insert a DIMM I think I cracked my new Board while installing the damn things I've seen a couple of boards where it was almoast imposible to install DIMMS, my board (cracked i think) is A7v-133-c AHHHH... damn dimms I liked SIMMS...
I think it's just a matter of which mobo you're using. The DIMMs I've worked with have been the easiest thing in the world to install. I loved putting them in compared to the SIMMs I've worked with, with their damndable metal pressure snaps that never stay open and don't usually open properly when you're using the chip to put pressure on them...

I usually tell folks to put the ram in before the mobo goes in the case. This allows a nice flat surface to push against. After you install a mobo it is sitting up on a few small points of contact making it much more likely to break. Also having the mobo out allows a much better view of the slot in case it might have some of those bumps that need to align with slots on the ram.
Of course if the mobo is already in you will need to decide for yourself if it is worth taking it out just to install ram. In your case I'd say it is better to take out a mobo then crack one.
I hated simms. They were not bad to put in if the clips worked correctly but taking them out was a pain. You needed to get two hands where there was only room for one most of the time. Dimms are much better.

Say is it a good thing that I heard a "CRACK" sound while installing the DIMMS Brand new mobo it took me 4 years to buy a new PC and now the mobo is DEAD, I like those little chips that you could install on the XT.
My dimm installation on my k7v was sweet and simple. Place the dimm in the slot, and close the clips which pushed the dimm down into the slot. as simple as that.
