PLS HELP ! Can't see Start menu, can't access control pane..

I have toshiba laptop and connect to internet past 10 day with wireless at
hotel. I got so many pop up windows and adware /spyware suddently installed
on notebook that drives me nut. I installed pop up blocker and microsoft anti
spyware still they come back everyday. The past 2 days I am not even can see
start menu , desktop, task bar on my screen. After I on my notebook, it goes
to XP welcome page then nothing except cursor. The only thing that I can do
now is do CRTL-ALT-DEL, then it will bring me to window task manager. From
there I can click on new task and access my firefox browser from my destop
..This way i can access internet. I can;t even see my IE anymore and I can't
go to control panel to fix because I can't see my start menu.
From this Window TAsk Manager I can browse WINDOW, but still can't access my
control panel. I am not good in computer. Anyone can help me, please. I
