Hey everybody, i've recently sold my Silverstone Temjin06 case(kept the good fans and bought 2 crap generic blue LED ones). I'll be needing a new case, and the 2 i'm looking into are the CM stacker or the Lian Li PC71 Please drop off your opinion on which is the better buy, prices are roughly equivalent, with the crossflow fan the Coolermaster will end up costing about 20CDN more.

Really? The Coolermaster seems pretty good in terms of how many holes it has. I'm trying to do a little weight reduction here, i'm dumping my toyota radiator, and planning to buy a smaller heatercore for my video card, since it really isn't getting that hot. So I want the watercooling in the computer, rather than having an external radiator.

The other reason why i wanted to sell my Temjin06 is because my setup really isn't utilizing the windtunnel, due to the fact the prometeia is already freezing the CPU and the surrounding area, pushing airflow through that area is actually increasing the temperature. Airflow is really a small concern to me, well small but i still need it because don't want the samsung rams or the motherboard to die.

Yeah it's black, and i'm kinda leaning towards the CoolerMaster because it saves me the trouble to drill a hole in the bottom of the case. But I still prefer the quality and worksmanship of Lian Li. I think i might just buy both and return the one that's the least moddable.

The Stacker is by far the best for airflow, but it's a bit noisey with the mesh.

A few guys at NCIX have built rigs around the stacker and they're pretty nice, but they agree the messh lets all the HD noises etc come through.

The next case from CM, the Stacker 830 is really nice, it's already on their site and the US price I've seen has been $300+US.

GGA i hope that isn't yours, because those cabling looks TERRIBLE! Fans aren't bright enough, if you're going to have custom window, at least make sure your pc looks good, not a pile of sh*t. Blue+Orange, now that's the colour of sh*t.

I don't like windowed cases, even though i do have sleeved cables and round IDE and floppy cables, those are designed not to block airflow, and to make sure my computer's cabling doens't blow up on me when i try to work on something in the comp. I just don't see a good reason paying 50 dollars+ for all the lightings and LED fans.

Definitely not mine.

My cases are BLACK, no windows, no lights (other than functional ones).

I've decide on a Chenbro Server Cube as my next case, no windows, all functional. I too have rounded cables (USB floppy instead of adding one inside) for airflow.

Once of the guys at NCIX has a nice LiquidCooling system in a Stacker, but I couldn't find the pics.

I think i'll just have a heatercore that uses 120mm fan and place that in a the bottom part of the front, there seems to be plenty of room for me to put the pump in that case. Of course the bottom hole is definently useful since i have a prometeia.

Another thing i don't like about the stacker, the harddrive mounting, each of those module things can only take 4 harddrives, now if they had made it so that drives are mounted vertically, they could've fit 6 drives in each of those modules.

LOL!

Geez, you must 'back-up' alot of software.
You feel the need for about 9 Terbytes worth of HD space? It's already got room enough for 10+1, it's even more than the Chenbro!

Well I actually only have 4 harddrives, so that'll require 2 device modules since i have a floppy. That's 6 5.25 drive bays gone, there are only 11, the 2 optical drives, 8 taken, I'm placing a heatercore in the front, and there goes the other 3, and i'm full... I wish it had 1 more so i could mount a new fan controller. But oh well i'll have to stick with 7V mods.

Good luck with modding that, I just ordered the stacker should be getting it in about a week. Oh yeah BTW the Stacker can also be flipped around to put the CPU on the bottom like the Temjin06, just lack of a wind tunnel, but I think i will do that, just in case there's a leak in my watercooling system.
