r520 release date

hey guys, has there been a date announced for release of video cards utilizing the r520 gpus? The reason I'm asking is because I can finally afford to get something half-decent (roughly $250CAD) but a friend is advising I wait till the r520s are out. I would like to know what sort of delay to expect before prices on older video cards go down.

They would probably come out about 799CDN, then in about 4 months, drop to about 649CDN, and stuck there for a good 6 months or more.

Lol... that's not what I meant. I was actually looking at stuff like x700s and was wondering how long before and by how much the prices for the x700s will drop if at all.

Prices don't drop too much on announcement, they might drop a bit months later when the cards are actually available...

If I were you, I'd spend the cash on a vanilla X800. You should be able to get one around the $250 CDN mark.

So you mean something that says Radeon X800 as opposed to X800XL or X800XT.
