I wonder why they give such a performance boost?

Anandtech and Firingsquad show close to zero performance boost in their comparisons. Any reviews showing a big gaming boost? Just adding [H] to the list of reviewers seeing zero performance gain. What happened?

Perhaps they have been able to deliver real world performance. Benchmarks are set rails they don't show imput from the user, hence why I bought fraps seeing the FPS as you play is more realistic of the system power you have IMO.

I am a Fraps fan also. Definately means more than 3dmarks to see what framerates you are getting.

[H] uses fraps and real would gameplay, but in NFSU2, their 2-lap actual race shows identical min/ave/max framerates between cat 5.5 and cat 5.6.

My scores went up from a shameful 5500 points to an astronomical 6391 points.

no difference from 5.5's as when playing cs:source ... others saying the same thing on other forums.

edit: ati's programmers must spend all their time optimizing for benchmarking applications

I scored 6302 in 05 but cant find it. I saved it or at least I thought that I saved it. Thats the highest score that has been reported for an XL that is not being cooled by phase change. Ive even got the volt mods beat.

Here are my published scores

3DMark 05 -6116
3DMark 03 -13902
PCMark 04 -7446

Im not a gamer, so I dont know if the difference is just in benchmarks or not. Alot of the big gamers that im talking to say that they have seen a performance gain. Maybe some cards gain more than others?
