VR-Zone has a list of the Mobile chips expected from nV in the second half of this year;

<A HREF="http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=2325&s=1" target="_new">http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=2325&s=1</A>

16 pipes being the max.

They also mention the possibility of SLI'ed mobile chips. I think that'll be only for Voodoo and Alienware (and maybe Dell) IMO. It's not practicle, but when have their rigs ever really been practical?

Nah, they're gonna use those gas turbine ones IBM's been developing.

MMmmm Toasted Nuts!

I use an aluminium shield with built in fan. (I'm not kidding!)

These things are going to drain power like instantaneously. Ever try booting up a laptop with an old dying battery, it crashes during the windows start phase. That's gonna be the VoodooVolcano or Alienware Area999 rig with a new battery!

<font color=purple><i>"Hey Joe, How's the new Laptop?"</i></font color=purple>

<font color=blue><i>I don't know I still haven't gotten past the login screen! I'm hooking it up to my car tonight and I'll see if I can at least grab the warranty info of the mfr's website!</i></font color=blue>

I seriously think these will no longer be self-supporting Laptops anymore, they will simply be shruken transportable desktops. 250WH battery, 27mins run time!

LOL!

Yep, drained that battery too, even with the alternator running!

Anywhooo, speakig of work, gotta leave work now.

Be sure to read the Xenos info pretty interesting.

Ciaola!

Yep, freakin' annoying really. I'm thinking of replacing the P42.8HT with something cooler and smaller, since I've decided I'm more concerned about portability and couch surfing than gaming. 12" and a Centrino+GMA would be fine with me. The GMA being a must for Longhorn more than anything.

Uhhh is a 3200+ mobile supposed to run at 1.1GHZ only?

And boy, 300MHZ should not even be hot, man. It should be even cooler than a Pentium II mobile 300MHZ, considering SOI!

when u alt tab out a game the proccesser usage drops thats the highest i have seen it. one things for sure the equivelent Pentium model with same setup like graphics card dont touch it in FPS.

it fluctuates between 300 to 800mhz depending on what application you are using, and no its still gets warm to hot after 2-3 hours of use.

System spec is below eden:

Jesus H Christ d00d, the mere fact you can run games and still maintain 2 hours of battery life is amazing in today's terms!

Your average laptop can't do 80 minutes on a good performing system with a mid-range video card.

Even more surprising is your 4 hours battery time. A Centrino these days can do less depending on the components used with it.

Don't even complain about how hot it can be man, you have far beyond most people's battery time when gaming, let alone basic usage battery time, and not to mention the quite powerful specs included, like that 17" widescreen. (which at the time was quite new I'd guess)
You got that thing in 2003?

it was feb 2004 and it was about 6 months after the first 17inch widescreens came out on the market for laptops. i dident even know the the batt life was that good, all my work collegues dis me because they all have thin lite Pentium mobile laptops and there batt stamina is ridiculusly good betta than my laptop, one of the things which really get hot is the actually massive battery pack underneath the laptop.

Thanx i will stop complaining about it know.
