I need advice from someone who knows about data recovery.
I took some pictures / video on my digital camera for my boss. I usually transfer them to my computer for safe keeping first, but this time I put them on his first. I copied the first of 2 flash cards with no problem. Then, I removed that one from the flash card reader and inserted the second one like I always do on my own computer, but suddenly the second card's files became corrupt! Then I noticed the file names on the second card matched the first which is totally wrong! I need these files. Does anyone know how to recover this data? Windows tried, but failed to correct them. Please help me!
I think you are SOL. On many flash devices you have to EJECT it (explorer) before inserting the next card else the structure becomes totally screwed - as you found. I had _exactly_ the same thing and tried in vain for many hours.
I now always eject (in explorer) before I remove the card.
I tried all the usual stuff and got no-where, not even file fragments. Sorry....

Dude that sucks. YOu may want to try and have it professionally restored. You would be surprised at what is recoverable. Unfortuanately, you won't know until you try.
Catheter and Caffeine IV are in place. Let's PLAY.
Well, they weren't life or death, but they were for my boss and our company web site, including one of the two videos. Unfortunately, they cannot be retaken. We threw a guy off a cliff to get them, literally!
try getting some program that can read in RAW mode and just copy the flash to the HD in one BIG file then with hex editor try and identify the headers of the Jpeg/BMp/whatever, I think thet the FAT (or what ever it is on flash) got craped but I think the DATA is intact so I dono just try.
