The following quote from Tom's Hardware guide shocked me a lot:

"SLI, however, also has a disadvantage for developers and graphic designers: it only works on one display, at least for right now. This means anyone using two monitors or TFT displays has to deactivate the SLI mode for normal work in Windows and reactivate it when needed, which always requires a restart. That's naturally a major disadvantage when running a P2P client, since it would have to search for its connections over and over again."

I do not use two monitors but I do use the S-Video out socket to simultaneously output an image to my CRT and Widescreen TV. Does this mean that I can't use SLi when outputting to the TV?

I don't want to have to disable the CRT monitor when I use the TV because during tasks like Windows Desktop and Windows Media Player I won't be able to see what is in a TV Screen even at 800x600!! Also since the TV is used to watch DVDs and play games it would be rather stupid to turn off the SLi when using the TV especially as I have paid double the price of a single graphics card!!

Could someone please clarify this!!

You can switch back and forth, but not simultaneously.

SLi2 is supposed to solve that problem.

In order to get SLi 2 won't I need to get a new motherboard?? Or would a BIOS update solve the problem in many cases?

Who knows...no firm details like that are out yet, only fixes have been 'announced' (I mean indirectly leaked, of course). But from what I can tell, not even a BIOS update is needed, just the installation of Forceware 80 series drivers.
