I'm sorry but i wanted to ask if nvidia and ati launch their cards with retail chipset. Instead of having in the market Asus, Gygabyte, MSI chipsets etc i wanted to know if it's possible to buy the cards with retail nvidia chipset or ati chipset.

Example: Instead of Asus 7800GTX PCIe it would be Nvidia 7800GTX PCIe

Nvidia doesn't make their own cards, EVGA does. ATI doesn't make their own card either, Sapphire does... So really i don't know why you'd want a Nvidia or ATI considering the fact EVGA and Sapphire cards are very good and very cheap.

Exactly, and ATI backs them with a 3 year warranty vs. Sapphires 1 year.

Usually you are right. Especially when you are talking retail chains(BB, CC, CompUSA) that sell BBA at retail prices compared to e-tailers who sell Sapphires at competitive prices. But sometimes BBA can be found for the same. I found a BBA 9800 pro for $170 back when they were still over $200 on pricewatch for any brand.

Everyones different, but I look for a good brand at the best price. I buy HIS or BBA when priced about the same and Sapphire or others if it saves me money. Not sure anymore, but ATI used to be great if warranty service was needed. They used to let you receive the new card in advance even (w/ credit card) like the HDD companies.
I have never delt with Sapphire for warranty service, so can't comment on that aspect of them.
