On my son's profile on our Windows XP Pro computer, he cannot access
My Computer, Outlook Express, or IE. The hourglass appears for a few
seconds, then nothing. On OE, I did get the error message about "OE
could not be started because the application is in use...". He also
can't get into Control Panels from the Start Menu on his profile.

Other programs like Firefox seem to work and I can access some other
folders from his desktop. This problem does not affect the other
profiles at all.

In a previous post, a similar question was raised and the answer was:

"Start/run msconfig, on the services tab uncheck (disable) Windows
Image Acquistions"

Would that apply in this case? Or is there anything else I can do to
attempt to get him some functionality?

Thanks for any advice.

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type: SFC /SCANNOW
