Is the performance difference very much? I live in Australia and could buy an Albatron 7800gtx for $899 or a BFG 7800gtx OC for $995.. Is it really worth the extra $95? has anyone done any benchmarks for this card comparing it to a 7800gtx at stock speed?

$1000 Aus is about $500 US. I'd probably go with the BFG, life time warranty is always nice and its overclocked.

Actually $1000 Australian is around $750 US while AU$900 is around $675 US. But really it's all relative, so the exchange rate is kind of irrelevant.. I suppose what I'm asking is about what % increase in performance would one expect with the overclocked card? (the price increase being around 10%)

Personally, I would never pay 10% more for the BFG 7800GTX over other good brands. Not unless it had some other clear advantage besides the slight stock OC.

The BFG card has lifetime warranty, and is clocked 30mhz higher, the Albatron card will ultimately in the end have higher overclocking potential than the BFG. It's up to you whether lifetime warranty is for you or not, for most enthusiasts, it's not, since we toss our card every year or two.

I know that, we get screwed real good since most companies just say the oz dollar is only worth 50c when its 75c. So we get screwed and have to pay $75us for games, thats right so dont complain you cheap bastards![/rant]

Get the BFG, its got the lifetime warranty and when this much money is on the line its worth the extra $95.00 Your getting a slightly faster stock card that you wont ever have to worry about going bad.

ASUS P5WD2 Premium
Intel 3.73 EE @ 5.6Ghz
XMS2 DDR2 @ 1180Mhz

I have a BFG 6800OC and I plan to return it when they stop producing them in hopes of them sending me a better card as a replacement!

Buying games is all the rage, way more popular then any drugs or alcohol. Basically you hand over money in exchange for games! Wow indeed!

$995 is a pretty solid deal especially considering when the 6800 ultra came out they were at least 1200 and as high as 1400. Fvcked indeed.
