How fast is your internet at home? At mine, upload 640Kbps and download 2Mbps. I have dual ADSL (Korea Telecom ADSL Lite) so the combined bandwidth is 1.28Mbps and 4Mbps. Please add your service provider, the technology, and location. (I am in Seoul, South Korea.)

oh come on, that was uncalled for. sure kenny has been bad in other threads, but he seems to be acting peacefull here, it is a legitimate question.

anyway, im in california, usa, i get about 150 kb down and the bastards at pacbell have capped my upload at 16 kb.

i went to the tomshardware forums and all i got was this lousy signature.

When your getting Music and Movies from Kazaa you don't actually get 1.5 Mbps on Cable do you ? Because i have Comcast Cable, over here in NJ...and when i download it depends usually... I have never gone a 1.5 mbps.... 30--85 kbps on music, and sometimes on a weird night i'll hit the upper 100's... maybe 150-170 kbps...i never seen anything higher then that when getting music off kazaa..

About P2P programs (Correct me if I'm wrong):
Your bandwidth might be 1.5 mbps, but a user you're downloading a file from will most likely be way less. So, you'll probably never get that high with P2P programs. Nevertheless, be satisfied, especially since your numbers are higher than 56K modem users.

146KBps is the max download of a 1.5Mbps connection, so you are maxing out your connection.

Can anyone direct me to a good page that describes all this lingo with bytes and bits and stuff? I feel stupid not knowing anything about this... :frown:

Just math =p, 8 bits = a byte. 1024 bytes in a KB, 1024KB in a MB etc.

Bits is a lower case b and bytes is a uppercase B.

Those numbers are in KB not kb, multiply by 8. Anyway, the highest download I've seen was ~390KB/s.
