Ok there hasn't been a poll for a while so here goes. I was listing the
companies I think were most influential in the coin operated video game
market and my favorite games each company put out. Would you agree with
my list? Other companies you think I should have?
Atari - Asteroids or Pong, I'm leaning toward Asteroids
Bally Midway - Space Invaders
Capcom - Street Fighter II
Cinematronics - Dragon's Lair
Data East - Karate Champ
Exidy - Venture
Gottlieb - Q*bert
Konami - Gyruss
Midway - Pac-Man
Nintendo - Donkey Kong
Sega - Virtua Fighter
Stern - Berzerk
Taito - Bubble Bobble
Tecmo - Dead or Alive
Vectorbeam - Space War
Williams - Defender
I would have listed Kee Games but since they were a subsidary of Atari
I don't know if they count as a separate company.
I know SNK have done some really good games too but I just couldn't
think what was their best in my opinion.

Atari - Asteroids
Capcom - 1941 (was that the first?) the quintessential vertical shooter...
Cinematronics - Dragons Lair (only because it broke the 1/2 dollar
barrier... it didn't really spawn anything).
Midway - NBA Jam (as far as influence goes, this was far reaching in terms
of sports games)
Sega - Virtua Racing
Nintendo - Donkey Kong (the origional platformer...)
Williams - Defender (has to be... all other horizontal shooters pale by
comparison)
