pls help - Internet conn works on safe mode but not normal..

Hello everyone -

I've just installed a new broadband connection but when after start up it
will only let me view one web page before giving the "server not available"
error page for every other site i try and view. Ping tests also come back as
100% failiure.

When i switch to safe mode, these problems dissapear with all pages
displaying properly and ping tests coming back 100% successful.

To a layman like me it looks like a security settings issue, but i've
uninstalled zone alarm and made sure the win firewall is off... i've run
through winxp's help troubleshooter too... does anyone have any idea how to
fix this, please?
