I cleaned my puter a couple of weeks ago. I plug it in nothing. No fans working I said to myself. Dead PSU. No smell fried PSU. Maybe dead mobo. I call local PC shop. I tell guy on phone maybe air freeze Harddrive. He says no. Ok. I bring it to he's shop. I ask Joe who works there it check PSU to see if dead. He plugs in PSU that works. Case fans start than stop. He plugs in back plug on Mobo. I push start button on case no work. He says mobo. I have my neice check New Egg since I have no backup PC. I said check for IS7 Abit mobo. New Egg says IS7 V2 I found out when it gets to my house cheap peice of junk. I send mobo back to New Egg. I week goes by. I try puter. Push button nothing. Three days latter I had case on floor. One of my male dogs decided to wiz on side of case. I clean case. Decide to plug in power cord and monitor. Puter fires up. As you can all see works fine.

Illogical and disgusting coincidence?

Have you tried running it out of the case? Sounds like a possible mobo-grounding to case-issue may have popped up on you. Any loose/missing mobo standoff screws?

If things shut down again on you, I'd definately pull the mobo from the case and see if all runs well on a bench. Either that or keep feeding Fido whatever it is that gives him that magical pee.

You could make a fortune. Bottle up the dog's urine as wonder coolant for liquid cooling systems.

Exactly. If it has happened before, there is a reason for it. I'm telling you it sounds just like a grounding issue. I know first hand that if the motherboard is grounded to the case you'll get nothing when you hit the switch. And it could be the slight movement of the case even that triggers it grounding or being OK. I've seen it on a new build where the mobo standoff hole was off a bit, and also a case like yours when it just crept up over time. Do what you want, but if you want to find out why it's happening, that's the place to start diagnosing.
