Hey all,
My problem is as i said, a slow box. I ddin't really notice how slow it was untell i got on a friends computer with a P3, 993mhz, 256mb ram. My specs are

2500+ @2.1 gz with slk-800
ga-7vax (kt-400)
radeon 9700
WD 80gb, 8mb cash

it's mostly the startup i noticed, but it all much faster in windows in the box with the lower specs. Games are totly diffrent though. havnt found a game yet that does not run smooth as butter on my box. I've been to black vipers website and done his tweaks, it helped a little but not that much. Does anybody have ideas on how i can speed up xp? somthing i'm missing?

thankS!

well a good tool called bootvis will help you speed up your booting. You can download it and get instrutions at m$'s website. ALso, you can download the trial version of diskeeper from executive.com, and defrag and also do a boot time defrag to also speed up booting. Also what os is your friend using? I assume you are on xp home.

You could also try Startup Control Panel, to control what runs when you start your computer.
