Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my card but my motherboard only has an AGP 4x slot. I'm currently using a Geforce 4 4600 ti. Is it worth my money to upgrade or should I just start saving for a new PC? If it is worth it, any suggestions on what would best suit my situation would be appreciated.
I currently have a 1.8 AMD Athlon processor and 512MB PC2100 RAM.

You have an OK processor and AGP4x isn't an issue with the cards I'd put in it. I'd go with a Radeon 9600XT, GeForce4 Ti4200, or something else allong those lines, keeping the price within the $80-100 range without sacrificing too much performance.

AGP 4X is not an issue. Your CPU is an issue. In many of todays games, XP1800+ will bottleneck anything worth upgrading to from a GF4Ti4600. I can tell you from testing, that NFSu2 and Farcry you would get no real benefit of upgrading that video card with an XP1800+.

Some games are CPU dependent, some are GPU, and I'm sure there's some that are both (prob fps'ers).

So what games does he play?

It's not going to do anything for farcry with that CPU.

BF2, is another story. GF4ti can't play it, new card can. But how well would BF2 play on a XP1800 with 512MB of RAM? That's the ? to find an answer to before spending money. My guess is, not well. But I can't tell you for sure, haven't played it. What are your expectations, to play it or to play it well?
