hmmm today i was told by a retailer that evga is cheap because they use chips that are not as good quality and he suggested ASUS's 6800..... so any though on this or is the retailer just making me spen more $$?

BTW i will try and get uber speeds with this card (or at least OC it a little) so i would want to know for its card stability (lifespam)

EVGA 6800 are of very high quality, Asus cards are just overpriced, however HOWEVER, the 6800GT 256mb uses 6800ultra PCB, so the 6800GT Asus will be more overclocking friendly.

But your retailer is full of sh*t, EVGA is very good, get the 6800 made by EVGA.

I'm fairly certain eVGA is nVidia's direct partner for producing such things as reference cards.
