Hello experts!

I'm interested in the best possible upgrade for the MacBook Pro 15" for the 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo (2010 model I believe), 3rd generation unibody MacBook Pro 15". She came installed with 4Gb onboard with an optional upgrade at the time to 8Gb.

I've been doing some research and I've seen some 16Gb upgrades listed but I'm concerned about BUS splitting to get that much RAM stuffed in this little machine.

Whats the best (fastest) RAM upgrade available without suffering a BUS split? Or am I wrong about this?

The fastest speed as mentioned in the above posts is 1066MHz and max is 8GB. I assume the standard memory that comes at the time of purchase is 4GB ( 2 x 2GB). For 8GB you need to get 2 4GB modules. 16GB is not compatible with your system and it will not work.

If you haven't upgraded your system then you can try the following links (i know its almost 9months since the post, just in case):

Hope that helps.
