If I get a PCI-E video card, do I need to get a new power supply to support that? Or would they work with a standard ATX power supply or is there an adapter? Please help, thanks.

A lot of video cards come with the 4-to-6 pin adapter. As long as you got enough power for your card you should be fine.

Most PCI-Express cards don't need added power. Some do, but most of those come with an adapter to use a standard plug.
