Hmm thats a hard call. Could remove that ram and try again. Sometimes, flaky drivers can cause this.

It's only one model though its kinda weird. I have the most current driver update from nvidia.

I can't imagine a universe where a bad stick of RAM would cause a model to be displayed incorrectly.
Bad RAM causes crashes, you'd know it quickly if the RAM was bad.

Looks like some kind of bizarre driver error to me, or a GPU error. I can't imagine what else it could be, other than corrupt models on the hard drive, but I don't know what could possibly cause something like that. A hard drive error would make the file unreadable, not miraculously create a buggered model.

This is weird enough that you should send the screenie to Valve.

I installed it with a bad stick of ram then didn't use that stick. I had 1gig of crucial ballistix and installed my OS with one stick being bad. I took out the bad stick and currently running on 512mb of good ram. I know its not smart to continue to run OS with bad install but will be reformatting in a couple of days.

Sorry about not making that clearer in first post.

Did you just install Half Life 2 or did it just start happening. I've been playing it for quite some time, and once in a while things like this happen to a select few people. Most definitely a corrupt or misplaced texture. I'll see if I can find the correct texture for that and direct you through where to put it.

Awsome I appreciate it. I won't be able to change the model becuase I just sent my ram back to crucial who will be sending me a brand new gig by the end of next week. I think it will help improve the perfomance in wide open areas of HL2, and games such as BF2 and World of Warcraft. I tried playing them with 512mb and it does get laggy in places.

You think thats bad, I tried putting this on my old computer. 850mhz AMD, 64+256 RAM, integrated graphics. It took about 3 second to turn 180*. I was suprised it actually ran.

I had trouble finding the model, but I found it. I'm real busy tomorrow but I should be able get it by Sunday. I've got to make sure its the right one, and look for its source textures, but I should be able to help you out. And a good place to go to is here if you ever have questions about Half Life, very useful if you do some modding for like I do.

I should have mentioned this before but if you ever get problem with Half Life 2, press the ~ (console) key and type prop_debug . And once you get to the part in Ravenholm with the fast zombies, press the console key and see if it shows up anything with 'missing', 'error', or 'could not find'. The great thing about that is it will show you where the file should be when it looks for it. Tell me what you get when you get the RAM back.
