Ok the other day this was working fine. I haven't done anything to the
sound card/drives/windows stuff ect. well i noticed my sound icon wasnt
in my task bar so i went to go put it in their. When i go to click on it
says:

Error: WIndows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because
the Volume Control program has not been installed. To install it, use
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

I have looked in the add/remove programs and i dont know about anything
in there. Then i also went to the windows programs in the add/remove
programs and i couldn't find anything on sound devices or anything of
that sort. I have had it do this to me before but i dont remember what
i did. If anyone can point me in the right directin that would be
great.

I have a VIA AC'97 built in card . Its 6.1 sourround. I also have a SB
Live! that i use for input only becuase the mic on the onboard hasnt
really worked in a long time. But everything has been fine till the
other day

I'm dealing with this exact same problem and can't figure it out. What to
do?? I'm a beginner and don't know much about computers or the words.
