Im going to purchase an alienware m14x, but recently I have seen some reviews saying that alienware computers are unreliable, and will not last. Will this computer last, and is it reliable?
Thanks,
Riley

yes it is reliable
as for being a good computer it is not because it is an alienware.the place where they take parts that are worth $800 and sell them for $1200

Yes they are as reliable as any other notebook/laptop on the market
Alienware's are nice but generally not worth the money for their hardware, you pay more because its an "ALIENWARE" compared to other laptops with the same specs

Alienware has a got a good reputation because they only build high end expensive ass machines. I think they got bought out by Dell or somebody recently. But in the end everybody has access to the same parts. Do you have a source for your recent finding out just random internet chat

Basically buy Alienware if you got the money to spend but not the skill to build on an awesome computer to keep up with only computer friends.

Short answer:

Owned buy Dell so same quality (above average)
Heavy markup similar to others in same price category, like Sony, Mac (like 1 1/2 times what it's worth)

They simply charge you more coz of the brand value with a little prior knowledge and a budget bout 1400$ you can make yourself a kickass Saegar gaming laptop
