I knew they had a GT but not a GTO. NVidia had a 6800GTO for Dell I believe.

Wusy, tell me you've heard of the old muscle car known as "the Goat" - Pontiac GTO?

Pontiac brought the Goat back too. It's fast, sounds nice, but is too expensive and kinda ugly IMO.

the new Pontiac GTO is actually an australian car. why isnt it in NZ

anyways, x800GTO? worthless. spend the money on 850. sounds like ATI is either trying to unload excess chips or fill a void till they can get their new chip out

But you have the Holdan Monaro in NZ/AU. Thats the exact same car as the GTO, and had been out for years before they brought it overseas to the USDM.

You lucky guys also have the Ford Falcon XR8 and bunch of other kickass Holden cars too.

And yes, the GTO is overpriced.

I've seen GTOs in Canada... aren't they in the US yet?

Too bad about their looks though. Like a plain old Grand Am...

Alright, getting back to the ATI GTO. What gives? The 128MB seems identical to X800 128MB. The 256MB seems a bit faster. below the 16-pipe versions, we have:

X800 pro
X800 GTO 256MB
X800 256MB
X800 / X800 GTO 128MB
X800 GT
X800 SE

I've felt pretty much on top of ATI and NV's card naming, but this is getting rediculous. But if prices are right, and they are available, these could be pretty nice cards. The 128MB version in AGP would be a nice replacement for 9800 pros. (line replacement, not upgrade)

Why the hell is ATI flooding the low mid range segment?? X800GT, and 2 X800GTO versions?? Seriously with the X800XL and X800 the X800GT was a good idea gut these 2 new ones are overkill. Only thing I can think of is ATI needs to keep their name in the market with 520 taking so long. Good news is that this may make Nvidia hurry up with a 7600GT type card.

lol, if R520 gets delayed longer they will have to release a X800NF(No Fudo), X800WF (Where's Fudo), and then a X800SNF(Still No Fudo).

Probably because that's where the money is...

Yeah people don't seem to realise that the middle class is the largest honey pot.

The Top end tastes sweeter, and has larger margins, but moves alot less product.

I realize that Cleeve but dang how about ATI concentrate on getting out new tech. More choices are never bad, I guess it's just frustrating. Just seems like overkill to me.
