laptop monitor turns white

My Acer laptop now just has complete white sreen when on. The turn screen seems on loose. So is it the cable problem or simply the graphic card and motherboard is finished.

I've heard of a "white screen of death" for these laptops which is due some APM problem but if you've done a cold shutdown and still have the problem then it's something else.

Try attaching a real crt/monitor to your laptop. That might tell you whether you have a panel problem or a systemic one.
