I think it's important for all of us to understand and perhaps come to
a realization that Bob Roberts may be done, at least for the short
term.
While the devastation of Hurricane Katrina could have been much worse,
once again New Orleans has dodged the bullet to a degree. When I
first tuned in on Saturday to Fox they were calling for the city to be
leveled and uninhabitable. Flattened by the once in a lifetime
hurricane and one of biblical proportions. While it's yet to be
revealed the damage and devastation to Bob's home, property and goods
it's important to understand the level of stress he is under; wanting
to get back home and assess the damage. The thoughts and prayers from
my family are with Bob and his.
While this may be a sensitive topic viewed by antagonists, this is not
an invitation for personal attack. I think this emphasises the
importance of redundancy in the industry or ingenuity of the human
spirit. And a rebuke towards the bickering and malcontent of what
this hobby has become. It's time to come together.
If it turns out that Bob may face a total loss in materials, just
please keep in mind that I have managed over the last 5 years to be
able to conduct restorations without Bob's help and assistance. There
are other sources out there that can be taken advantage of and
utilized. This isn't to say that there isn't any exerted effort on
your part.
As you probably all know, it's through a concerted effort by all that
were able to maintain and manage our collections. Through helpfulness
and cooperation were able to restore alot of products.
The talents of Richard Cross, Alex Yeckley, Mark Spaeth, Darin Jacobs,
Brian Jones, Mark Hooks, Bob Langelius, Andre Chromey and many others
stand to offset the losses of any one of us. Through the collective
we can persevere.
A devastating loss by Bob Roberts has the potential to effect the
devastation of many projects. But keep in mind that one person has
gone 4 years without the resources of Bob Roberts. Keep that in mind
when you consider whether your project can be completed and fully
restored.
God Bless Louisiana and all of us during this dire event.
