Well, hi there guys at Tom's Hardware
When browsing a bit for Laptops (scouting the field if you will) I discovered something that I guess most people here know... but was new to me... We here in the UK are being screwed over... or do I not get something?
Lets the the Toshiba Qosmio X875-Q7190. In the UK this item would cause around 1500 pounds I guess,... not that i can find it one amazon, but nvm that.
Abut when I went to the US site, it costs there 1300 dollars? (
http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-X875-Q7190-17-3-Inch-Diam...) ( I am not sure if posting the link is ok, if not I will remove it, anyways, its a US item, so I guess not really "advertising", cause you cant buy it in the UK)
Thats like 850 pounds.. why do we have to pay nearly 2 times as much here then in the US? I mean if it was made in the US, then I would understand cause of custom tax etc... (still 1500/850 is WAAAYYYY too much but anyways) but its a Japanese corporation. How come its so much cheaper in the US then here? And its not just that one. I have seen so many models like 40-50% cheaper in the US then here.
Is this normal? Am I missing something? WHY do we have to pay so much more? Is the difference at least going to the British government, or is Toshiba/co. just charging us more, for what ever reason?
Sorry for the rant, but I would really like to know
