I need a new VGA card to go along with my P4 3.0 Prescott and P4p800SE (ASUS) , but the thing is ... I've been looking at the ATI X800 series , which I think might be a good replacement from my current RADEON 7500 64MB... But It looks like that I will be requiring a new MOBO just to be able to install the desired VGA card. Due to PCI Express, it seems that the AGP relayed cards are slowing disappearing...
Am I correct, and do I need to consider replacing my mobo, also It also seems like that I am forced to SWITCH to LGA 775 socket because there isn't much choice for a PCI Express MOBO with 478 socket for my p4... WHAT TO DO , WHAT TO DO ???? Please help ...
I currently have P4 3.0 Prescott 478 ASUS P4P800 SE Radeon 7500 64mb

First of all, take a deep breath. You have many choices here.
6600GT $125
X800 Pro $225
X800XL $255
6800GT $291
X850XT $376
Any of these cards will make a HUGE difference from your current card. You could try to find an old 9800 PRO or 9600XT but as far as I'm concerned there's no reason not to get a 6600GT for $125.
BTW, I found all this information by going to NewEgg and using the power search capability to find AGP cards with DirectX9 support.
