First Timer!

First time builder here! Looking for the most for my money and not wanting to spend an arm and a leg for anything inside this machine, I'm already doing that for gas! Anyways I'm wanting to build a PC that will primarly be a gamer this is the graphics card that I have in mind so far if there's anything else out there that might suit me better or save me a few dollars please let me know. BTW please if you can give me a link to it or atleast give me as much info about what I'm looking for as you can I don't understand all the number jargon yet. Thanks for your time!!!

Ah, first timer. There's no going back ya know.

Where are you from and how much is the the 6800GT you are looking at? How much more for a 7800GT? How much less for a X800XL?

The 6800GT is a good card. But an ATI X800XL typically offers the same performance for less money. Although the 7800GT is priced higher, deals are out there and it easily outperforms the other cards mentioned. If it amounts to $75 difference that could be saved elsewhere in the system (CPU for instance), then the 7800GT would be real nice.

These are not the lowest or highest priced boards for each just a rough average.

I'm open to suggestions for the entire system as of right now I haven't gotten much feedback on the CPU board. This is what I had picked out so far let me know what you think.
