I've a Asus P4PE with Firewire and RAID/SATA onboard.
During operation of video capture from my DV camcorder (using VIA VT6307 firewire controller IRQ22) i have notice a very lot of "disturb" in Avi file when i save it in my new Maxtor Diamond Max plus 9 Sarial ATA (NTFS - 1 HD Raid 0 Array - block size 64Kb on Promise Fast Track 376 IRQ23). these disturb are recorded in video file (i used both avi and mpeg2 but no results), so i can't use it.
These video "disturbs" disappear when I capture AVI in my IDE disk IBM DTLA 307030 (Fat32).
When I play only from my DV cam there are no problems.
The OS disk is the primary partition of IBM IDE drive
The DMA of SATA disk is UDMA mode 5 (promise array management)
The transfer rate R/W are 28/18 Mb/s for IBM (IDE drive) and 43/52 Mb/s for Maxtor (SATA Drive).
The Cpu is a P4 2.53GHz with 512 Mb RAM DDR. The CPU load is 10-20% during play, 10-25% capturing in IBM drive, 11-22% capturing in SATA drive.
I've used Pinnacle Studio 8 SE, Intervideo Wincoder and AM capture tool
Bacause i'm capturing long video i would use the Maxtor disk.
What can i do? There's somethings to change (Es. IRQ, Bios, Array, Blocksize)?
Thank you for your attention
