What is the significance of purchasing dual SLi cards such as GeForce 6800GT's to buying a single GeForce 7800 GTX card? I keep hearing about the rewards but find it a little difficult to choose between the two. Does anyone have an idea? Have any test been done?

Get a single GTX, less power consuption, less heat, more frames per second, AND you then keep the option of SLI with 2 GTX's.

I agree with Ned. the single GTX will give you great performance right now and later down the road you can add a second for even more power.

Agreed. You get comparable performance with two 6800's as one 7800 GTX for a hundred dollars cheaper, atleast. And again, you'll have room later down the line to add another 7800 GTX when you deem it necessary.
