Ok. I have a dimension 8200 with an upgrated cpu of 2.8 ghz and ram of 768 rd ram. Agp 4X and 400mhz bus. I want to upgrade my graphics card gf2 to a geforce 6800 gt. I will buy it this christmas after the prices drop once more. First question: Is this card my best choice? Second question: What is the best brand name to buy? XFX and Evga seem to be the cheapest.

Well, in terms of warranty the BFG and eVGA cards carry a lifetime warranty. Also, the BFG's are overclocked from the factory which is nice. The flip side is that they tend to be a bit more expensive. I currently have an eVGA 6800GT and have had no problems with it. Ned Flanders would say stay away from XFX as his 6800 just died.

Can I borrow that card? I have an eVGA 6800GT here as well, and I'd like to do some SLI testing on a certain motherboard. I'd need around 3 days.

Got an Athlon XP 3000+ on Asus A7N8X, so my 6800GT is AGP.

I was thinking of that. They SHOULD buy me one. After all, the other one was free!

I would take a look at my experience of XFX.... I will never buy another product from XFX so long as I live! qucik summary.. They sold the 6800GT at 900MHz memory speed, when everything claims it is 1000MHz! They have just introduced this "new variant of the GT"... Thier words not mine! Shame they didn't update the adverts, sec's on the box or even the products model number!!

So you think your getting something better than what you actually are!

I am RMA'ing my XFX for a PNY this friday!

I'm guessing your only gonna throw the standard HSF int eh bin then? ;-)

I can see where your comming from! ;-)

But would you want that with 2ns GDDR3 RAM or 3ns GDDR3 RAM? (Just for example?)

;-)
