7800Gtx Woes

Hi, Was hoping to trouble some of you guys for a spot of advice on my sitution...

The system in my sig, whilst I thought quite good doesnt seem to be performing that hot in certain games that my old XP2800+ & 9800pro system kicked @ss in.

I hav a fresh install of XP Pro with SP2 78.01 graphics drivers and 6.66 sysem drivers. Games such as Deus Ex 1&2 run like pants. Both dropping to below 35FPS in really undemanding areas and just in general.

All games have etest patches. I see all the benchmarks of new cards with almost identical systems to mine puling higher framerates in games like FartCry even though they have slower CPUS's (P4 3.4's or something)

CAn anyone offer a solution or explaination please...it would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone? - Another example is Sid Meiers Pirates. 35fps @1600x1200.

Really old games don't like your really new hardware?

That's about the only thing I can think of... try out a more modern game and see what kind of performance you get.
