Weird problem with Dragon breed

Hi,

I have a Dragon Breed running on Irem M72 hardware. Sometimes ago I
dumped the eproms and one got corrupted. I decided to reburn the eprom
(db-ch3) with the one in mame set, but the pcb started to boot with an
"ROM NG 1 2" message. The game seems to run good, but right before the
second stage boss, it freezes and you have to turn off the power.

So I rechecked all the eproms and maskrom and they are good, at least
they are the same as in mame.
I then burned all the files on other eproms (just to be sure the
original were not faulty) but the message keeps displaying.

I thought of a fault on the pcb, so I kept my Air duel pcb which runs on
the same hw (m72) and put Dragon Breed MCU, prom and all the eproms and
roms and the message is always there and it behaves the same way

So, I am thinking that the program roms in mame are not compatible with
the DragonBreed MCU.
I have heard that there is a Dragon breed running on M81 hw which is not
protected with the mcu. Maybe the sets are not compatible?
the freeze could be a protection issue...maybe the mcu does a check and
finds the rom is not compatible...

Can someone help me?
