Here's My Situation:
I am installing an x700 to my PCI-e.
The computer has RS480-2 ATI (xpress 200)which is disabled/removed and all drivers removed.
Upon installing the x700, the computer prompts me to install
'normal VGA' driver, which in the past was never a norm for me, I would always cancel out and just load the driver myself.
Well, since this being the first Venture to PCI-E I decided to follow Powercolor's instruction sheet and let the system load the VGA, then load my driver.
Now My Question:
Device Manager shows I have
Display:Radeon x700
+Radeon x700 (Secondary)
I don't think this 'Secondary' is normal, so I'm thinking I've double crossed my driver somewhere.
My Machine is NOT SLI capable, so I don't have dual function.
One tech at Gateway says this is normal, but then I think that this person must've thought I was talking about DVI or dual monitor stuff.
Please Help.
Thank You.
Magneezo
PS Upon removing 'Secondary'and trying to correct it,
when the machines reboots,
I still get 'Found New hardware-VGA Display Device'.

that "secondary" is normal. it is meant for if you use another display at the same time. if your computer is working fine, no prob.
