Just got my latest MCM Electronics catalog (www.mcminone.com). They now
have the NON-POLAR high frequency high temperature electrolytic
capacitors. Their stock numbers start at 310-025 through 310-570. As an
example, 310-515 is a 1 uf at 100 volt unit. All of these caps are the
very high temperature (125 degree) versions.

Good snag, nice post Ken.

Those caps can be a real pain in the butt to locate.

What are these caps commonly used for?

As in cap kits? No kiddin...I didn't think monitors needed any special
caps outside what is normally comenrcially avaliable. Is it the high
freq what's causing them to be scarse?

Some particular makes and models need these caps. Not at every
location, but sometimes one or two caps need to be these types. They
are usually called out in the schematics or parts lists.

They are also typically found in "newer" monitors that this group hasn't
gotten around to be blessed by. When I say blessed I'm being very sarcastic.
Some newer monitors are total garbage.
