ATI Radeon X850XT and Server 2003

Hello.

I recently installed an ATI Radeon X850XT PCI-E, and I'm running Windows Server 2003. I cannot install any driver software. I install it like usual, it reboots my computer, but when it starts back up, it's not listed as an installed device, and the default generic driver is being used.

Someone I know has the same OS, but his card is an AGP. His install disc had a driver on it for Windows Server 2003, but when I tried installing it, it said I didn't have the hardware or software it needed installed.

I'd really like some help on this. ^_^

Thank-you. ^_^

No worries, I found out what I needed to do. I downloaded the driver AGAIN from Visiontek's site.

Do forgive me for the inconvenience.

Nuu ^_^

Do you have SP1 installed? According to my friend you cant get video acceleration with SP1 installed. I still havent tested it yet but yeah.

Yeah no [-peep-]. Like I said, wouldn't work for my friend whos a very competent guy and I haven't tried it yet. I was merely throwing out the idea.

2003 x64 doesn't support opengl, though d3d runs fine
my guess is that the same applies to 2003 x32 sp1 (practically what made the version x64 possible)

the 2003 x32 w/o sp1 runs all flawlessly
