I recently ran the battery down and now the start button does nothing. Tried waiting 24 hours, total drain and start button pressed for 60 seconds, etc. but still nothing.
If I plug in the computer with no battery Media Direct starts up. Cool but I can't get into Windows and the start buttons are still dead so all I can do is shut down. But if I take out the CMOS battery and then plug it in I get a CMOS error which then allows me to bypass Media Direct and boot into Windows normally . . . . Start buttons still dead.
So now I can run my computer "normally" plugging the thing in with no CMOS battery. Bypassing the start button.
