Is there a way to disable the "switch to basic theme?"

When i want to run compatibility mode my desktop switches to "basic theme."

When i'm in basic theme "mode" I get tons of little horizontal graphical white lines and graphic distortions. This also happens when I log on, or switch users - my graphics become messed up...

Hence the reason why I want to disable "basic theme" mode.

btw, my computer runs fine when I'm in aero mode.

I'm not concerned with running programs and being compatible with aero. Just wondering if there's a way to shut off the temporary switch to basic mode. My issue is with the graphical anomalies that occur when switching to basic mode, and also on system start up at the log in screen.

AFAIK, there is no way you could disable the basic theme. It is just 7's way of ensuring compatibility with older programs. In fact, it is a good thing, otherwise those programs being incompatible with the Aero interface, wouldn't work at all.
